Five Years of Anima Canis Kennel

Seven years will be gone soon from the day when the first French bulldog - our Aischa - came up to our home. Five years ago (in December 2006), we bred our first litter and Anima Canis Kennel was registered by the FCI. It's time for the first brief resumption. How were these five years of breeding?

Three other Frenchies joined Aischa since then - Adela, Betty Boop a Daddy's Boy, all born in our kennel. We bred 24 puppies, 16 females and 8 males. From 20 already weaned puppies, 55 % are living in the Czech Republic, the rest abroad. Fifteen puppies already came of age; 13 of them (87 %) were shown at least once and 4 (27 %) already became champions. Eleven of 15 mature puppies (73 %) passed the Breeding Suitability Test, all successfully, and ten (67 %) already have offsprings.

Our four "home" Frenchies entered 90 shows in 7 countries till the end of 2011. The most succesfull one was Betty Boop, who became Interchampion, champion of 3 countries, Czech Grand Champion , Club Champion an Junior Champion of 2 states. She was shown 50-times in 7 countries and 27-times won the class. She competed 31-times in adult classes with 21 wins, 7 CACIBs and 6 Res.CACIBs. Adela, champion of 2 countries, Czech Grand Champion and Club Champion, and Blackie (owner: J. Klauzova, Jantos Gold Kennel), Czech Grand Champion and Czech & Club Champion, were very successful as well. Daddy's Boy succeeded to gain the Junior Champion title till now, his sister Dalila (owner: M. Saulichova, Alsamar Kennel) met the requirements for this title as well. 

Retirement of Aischa, our first Frenchie and super-mum, in 2011 symbolically concluded the chapter.

We faced both joy and sorrow, the first hopefully more often. Was this period succesful or unsuccessful? We kindly let the evaluation upon the reader.
